I’ve started a Substack
Yeah, I’m giving this substack thing a try. Allow me to deliver my tendancy to dive into nerdy rabbit holes directly to your inbox!
The main reason is because it’s a forcing function to see if I can push myself to write more often. The ability to engage with readers more directly via email and discussion threads is pretty appealing, if I can get to that level of critical mass.
In parallel, I’ll also maintain a posting presense on Medium. There’ll probably be some lag before one crossposts into the other. Medium’s got an interesting discovery model w/ publications and such, but it always feels a lot like writing a thing, throwing it at a pub, tweeting a bunch, and maybe people see the article, maybe not. It’s very inconsistent.
For the forseeable future, it’ll remain free to subscribers. I’ll be experimenting with the format and settling in. We’ll see how my tendency to write longer pieces squares with the cadence of a regular newsletter.
Hopefully you readers will join me and give feedback over time.
